What girl can resist a gourgeous ring?

I've been on an accesrories trip of late, I have been digging out all my bits and bobs since winter is here and I need all the help I can get accesorising my outfts.  I have always been  a fan of rings, cocktail rings to be exact. I cant help myself, I must have them LoL!

The trend of has been to pile them up, wear all the rings you own kind of look. This is fine for the weekends or if you are of a certain age group, not so office appropriate.  However there are still ways to wear your rings and be formal. After all they say less is more.

Rings are my go to accesory, they are easy to pop on and they can help tie a look together depending on the vibe you are going for.

So paint your nails and dress your hands up this season and shine, well at least when your  are not wearing of gloves!

Winter Must Haves

Hello!
There is no doubt that as much as we may enjoy wearing our sweaters and and cardigans, they alone can not see us through the long, dark and cold days of winter.

 

My shopping list for this season is really long and I dont know whether that is simply because I love shopping or because I really need these things.  We all need a good winter coat, Hats, boots and scarves if we plan on setting foot outside our doors.  At the moment I keep asking myself how am I going to still look half decent because I have a tendency to go over board when it comes to layering.  That is simply because Im so afraid of the cold.

 

Even though the winter months are dark and cold and all you want to is to curl up somewhere and hide and your once bright and cheery wardrobe has turned into a gray, black and beige mush. Try as hard as you can to inject some colour into your wardrobe by adding bright tops, bags and other accesories to bring it back to life.

Chunky Knits

Winter Is Here! Thought I'd announce that incase you had not noticed or felt It. LoL

 

I'll be the first to admit that winter is not one of my favourite seasons.  I dont care how many winter wonder land songs are sung, and how many cups of hot chocolate I drink.  Id rather be at a barbeque somewhere nice and hot.

 

 

Needless to say there is no changing the weather It Is what It Is, so like any other girl I thought to myself, make the most out of this season and revel in the wonderful things It brings.  I love comfy sweaters and tops so 'tis the season to be all wrapped up in comfy tops.  This season the big trend is the Aztec prints and Navaho Prints.

I've been enjoying the trend mostly because I feel like I can throw on a chunky cape or sweater and still be right on trend, I am a lazy dresser, the less fussy the better!

 

Oh well, what else is there to do but wrap up warm and look great at the same time. I hope you are having a great week!

Pretty Little Things

It's one thing to put on a good dress and be done, it's another thing to take it to the next level by accesorising and complimenting that simple dress and turning it into something WOW!

I appreciate the power of accesories, the little things that we may not spend so much money or time fussing over. They can take a simple white tee and turn it into a show stopper.  I know that when you look good, you feel good, and at times it's the pretty little things that will get you there.

So many things affect how we feel on a day to day basis, it can be your favourite lipstick that makes you smile more or your go-to perfume or holy grail foundation.  Whatever it maybe, you feel unstoppable when you put these things together before you go out to face the big bad world!

Im a sucker for simplicity and timeless classics but I know that even they need a little help from time to time. So, do not neglect your belts, chains and other little trinkets that make the mundane fantastic. Whatever the case maybe, dont forget to smile-we all look good when we do and a smile is  Universal.

Just Loafers

I'm guilty of collecting comfy flats that I can wear during the weekend or days off when I'm running errands.  I love loafers because they can be worn in so many different ways all the while looking great and without the need for gel inserts.  I must admit that that I have been acused of being a big fan of the "Granny Chic" look and loafers fit right In there.

Hello Monday!

I've have been asked if fashion is solely for the rich, the young and upcoming only?  I can understand such a question because the beauty and fashion industry is obsessed with youth and celebrity.  I know that fashion is for everyone, it is a way to express yourself whichever way you choose,  whatever your budget may be.  I don't think its all about following trends, doing excatly what the magazines are saying or imitating your favourite celebrity.  Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being inspired. Allowing different trends to spark something new and allowing yourself to be bolder than before is a fantastic way to enjoy fashion, all the while being yourself. Like I always say, Its Fashion not brain surgery. Have fun with it!!

Trend: Lace

Hello!


I get super excited whenever a great trend emerges, at the moment I'm enjoying the dainty lace designs that are big at the moment.

There are a million and one ways to wear lace, It is nothing like when lace was coarse and itchy and was used mostly to make awful curtains LoL!

Of course we have to be careful not to look tacky by picking great colours and designs.  This seasons most stores have lace pieces in their Autumn/Winter ranges.  Try and find out what you like and just go with it!

Wedges

Hello!

I love seventies fashon, the wide leg pants and tweed jackets, the big hair and funky accesories.  This is the reason why I'm so happy with the return of the wedge.  They can be wedged boots, sandals or shoes it does not matter, I love them.

Wedges are quite versatile and can be worn with most things for most occassions.  They are much easier to walk in as well because of the platform base.

So remember the bigger the better, with jeans or a flowy skirt go back in time and rock the trend!

Dream Dream Dream

I've found myself being drawn to purples and plum shades of late. Whether It Is a pair of shoes or a scarf,  I can not seem to help myself, if its in these shades Im drooling.

I dont know who this bag is by but I love the style, shape and colour.  This bag can be worn as a messenger bag or carried on the arm.   The satchel is very big this season and Im hoping and dreaming to find this beauty one day. Hey, a girl can dream, cant she? LoL

Solange Knowles

Hello!
Solange Paiget Knowles has quickly become one of my favourite fashionistas, the reason is because she is not afraid to reinvent herself.  The twenty five year old mother of one is very daring when it comes to her image.  This can range from the colours she chooses to wear, the brands and designers she favours or cutting off all her hair and going natural in an industry that encourages women to be fake from head to toe.

This multi talented singer, songwriter, dj, actress and dancer is very refreshing.  She keeps most people guessing as to what moves she is going to make when it comes to her image.  I applaud her bravery because not many people understand what it really takes to be truly yourself and leave your own mark, especially since she is always being pitted against her superstar older sister.

 

I dont believe that being fashionable or stylish means following trends, i dont think it means being emblazoned in deigner logos from head to do, to me fashion has everything to do with personality and originality and not how much money one has.  Solange is one example of how you can look good in your own unique way.  I may not wear all the pieceses she chooses but I get where she's coming from
 with the ideas.  Bravo Solo
